Message from the NYSAASC President:
We are still attempting to get more clarification on the intent of the Governor's Budget Bill as it relates to the 9.63% surcharge on procedures performed in ASCs. We are working with other groups in the state who are affected by this proposal, as the language in the budget proposal is quite vague. Until we know the full extent of this proposal on our members we will be watching this issue very closely.
It should be noted that there is currently an 8.95% surcharge already assessed on procedures performed in free-standings ASC's in New York State. The ASC Association is assisting and supporting us in our efforts.
